Let's prepare another delicious recipe, specially enjoyed by American families during the Holidays...Enjoy!
Here is what you'll need:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 stick of butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 of teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
4 to 5 apples peeled and cut in fourths
For the caramel:
1 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1 stick of butter
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 pinch of salt if the butter is unsalted
How to prepare:
In a skillet or pan, add the sugar, once the sugar starts to melt, keep on stirring until it’s completely melted.
Add the butter and heavy whipping cream. Mix well for about 2 minutes or until everything is incorporated.
Arrange the sliced apples onto top of the caramel and set aside.
In a standing mixer or regular mixer, beat the butter for about 1 minute.
Add the granulated sugar, the brown sugar and beat for 1 more minute.
Add the eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute.
Pour the dry mixture into the wet mixture and beat for about 1 minute.
Pour the batter on top of the apples and bake for about 45 minutes.
Serve as it is or with vanilla ice cream on top.
